My kids, ages 1 and 5, love roasted seaweed. So do I, and so does everyone else I know whose tried it.
Roasted seaweed is like the ocean’s version of the potato chip. A little crunchy, a little salty, and a lot of flavor. The best part? It is really good for you. I love potatoes, but processed potato chips cannot touch the nutritional value of roasted seaweed.
Here’s what Pacific Botanicals has to say about their new product, Nori flakes (Nori is the Japanese name for various edible seaweed species):
Nori is loaded with the natural element iodine. This is essential in helping your thyroid glad to create thyroxin which regulates the function to burn fat and sugars. This is essential in helping support healthy metabolism. It also supports healthy skin and hair.
Iodine is also a natural protectant against radiation damage. If you live near a nuclear power plant, or if you like to be proactive about your safety, consider snacking on seaweed. You can buy it at Asian grocery stores, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s and other natural food stores. My favorite brand happens to be Trader Joe’s.

Don’t be surprised if you see nori flakes in a future Herbal Philosophy tea.
Are you addicted to seaweed yet?
